Beyoncé x #LEMONADE

(via breatheheavy.com)

Hey, dears! Let us just get right into it because you guys all know that I’m a Beyoncé stan. I am definitely a member of the Beyhive. So it’s no surprise that I’m about to talk about #LEMONADE. Now in case you live in a box with no access to the outside world, let me tell you what the hell #LEMONADE is. It is the SECOND visual album that Beyonce dropped out of nowhere. This woman knows how to make headlines! But again, no surprise.

At first, the album was only available via Tidal. Now, it’s available on iTunes and Amazon.  However, people have been sharing the whole thing via social media, specifically Facebook. When I mean the whole thing, I mean the VISUAL part. Now, if you want the tracks you may wanna check out Tidal, iTunes, Amazon… or some other sneaky method if you have one.

A big difference between her 2 visual albums is the layout and content. As oppose to “Beyonce” album, “Lemonade” is a whole story in one basically. It flows from one song to another into an hour long masterpiece. Also, this new album is basically about infidelity. There are some other topics hidden in the story, such as Black power and women power, but it’s mainly about infidelity. The stages of it. The emotions. The roller coaster. The best thing is that it’s all coming from a woman’s standpoint which makes it super relatable. Let’s be honest, every woman has been heartbroken so they’ll be able to relate to this album. Whether it’s a song or the whole album, it’s relatable.

I would honestly have to say this is probably the most artistic album Beyonce has ever done. Her last one was pretty creative but this one had deeper meaning all across the board! So if you want to be stimulated mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, WATCH IT. I’ve shared it on my Facebook so go take a look!

MAC’s First Look at Selena Collection

Hey, darlings! I know I have been gone for ALMOST a month, but I’m back! It was really rough working a full time, stressful , time-consuming job and still get the luxury to write about things that interest me. Now that I’m back, let’s just talk about what really matters. – Selena!

First off, can we address the fact that it’s been 21 years since she’s passed?! I feel like it was yesterday. Although I was 2, I definitely remember seeing it on the TV and how stunned by grandmother was. It is a memory that will be engrained in my mind forever.

Anyway, MAC has finally given us a sneak peek of what’s to come in the Selena Collection. Now, I don’t give a damn if I have all the shade that are released in the collection, I’m buying it. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. Selena is my idol. I have to give my support. Plus, the colors are inspired by shades that she would wear on and off stage. Who doesn’t wanna wear a Selena-inspired lipstick?! I sure as hell do. Therefore, when it hits counters this October, I’ll be first in line. ❤

Reality TV Guilty Pleasures

Hey, lovelies! A few weeks ago, I shared with you guys my all-time favorite TV shows of the fall season. This post isn’t going to be fall themed, but just me sharing with you reality TV shows that I find myself actually enjoying. No, I am not embarrassed to say that I watch reality TV haha. It’s entertaining! I watch TV for entertainment, not for life lessons or anything deep. Now, let’s get to my faves :)…

(via idigitaltime.com)

The Braxton Family Values is probably one of my all time favorites. Why? This show reminds me a lot of my family, except that we’re not famous obviously. My grandma has 5 daughters (including my mother), and the Braxton sisters remind my cousin and I about our own aunts. We even assign a Braxton to each of the 5 women in our family, because the personality’s are super similar haha! So, that’s what attracted me to the show. Besides that, I’ve always liked Toni Braxton’s music. Tamar is kicking ass music wise, too! I would recommend this show to anyone who likes a light-hearted, family reality show. It’s better than keeping up with the overrated Kardashians.

Ru Paul’s Drag Race is the most entertaining of them all! It’s more of a competition show than reality, but I just had to include it. The amount of humor and fun in this show is unbelieveable. There is never a boring episode. Every season, all of the competitors have big personalities. It’s simply just fun to watch. Before you know it, you’ll find yourself rooting for a specific queen to win!

I hate to say that I’m a fan of Rachet Mondays, but I am. I do like watching all the different LAHH seasons. However, I am a New Yorker so I’m partial to LAHHNY. Also, I find that it’s the least ratchet haha. Sorry, not sorry! LAHH ATL is the most ratchet with the most drama, by far. LAHH Hollywood is definitely the most superficial. Either way, whether one is more ratchet than the others, I enjoy all of them.

I like watching Teen Mom, in general, but when Teen Mom OG came out I immediately was excited! To be honest, I mostly just watch for Maci, haha. Maci is definitely the best out of all the girls of Teen Mom, period. I know plenty agree with me! She just has persevered through so much and still keeps it classy. I also think that Teen Mom does a better job of showing young girls the consequences of teen pregnancy long term.

If you don’t like Couples Therapy on Vh1, you’ll definitely like Marriage Boot Camp! I hate Couples Therapy because I feel like everything gets lost in the hustle and bustle of drama. Marriage Boot Camp does have it’s drama moments, but nothing as insane as Couples Therapy. If you want to actually watch a show that is actually trying to fix relationships, then I’d watch Mariage Boot Camp.

Now, I’ve always been a fan of Evelyn Lozada, even when she was a hot mess. I had a gut feeling that she’d change, which she did! To me, Livin’ Lozada is basically how she’s grown as a person and become a new and improved Evelyn. The show isn’t ratchet by any means and I know some people would assume that because of her past. However, let’s be serious. Do you think Oprah would put ratchetness on her TV network??? I highly doubt it. I would give this show a chance if you haven’t seen it. Season 1 is over, but I definitely hope the show gets picked up for Season 2.

WAGS is definitely what I watch the most reality tv wise, lately. I enjoy football and all these ladies are dating or married to football players. Plus, what really gets me into the show is the STYLE. These women KNOW style! If you mix football, style,  and glam all in one, you get this show. I literally can’t stop watching. I used to really enjoy Basketball Wives, but this replaced it.

What are your reality TV guilty pleasures? I know you have some!

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Are Expecting!

(via ew.com)

How ironic was it that just last month Chrissy Teigen was talking about how people should stop asking when a couple is going to have children! I completely agree with that statement, but it’s so ironic that now she and hubby, John Legend, are expecting their first child. She has said plenty of times that she was ready to start a family and now she is finally on her way :).

Chrissy took to Instagram to announce their good news…

Congratulations to these lovebirds! ❤

Demi Lovato x Body Image

(via complex)

Hey, all! I wanted to take the time to talk about something that’s a little beauty, a little lifestyle, and a little entertainment all in one! Demi Lovato has been featured in the Oct/Nov 2015 issue of Complex magazine. I’m sure plenty of you have seen her topless, banana cover photo floating around haha. Anyway, in her interview, she discusses a lot about her body image and  how it’s been the inspiration to her new album, Confident, dropping October 16th. Now, I may not be a Demi Lovato fanatic but I always loved her style and how she’s become more liberated and comfortable in her own skin. It’s just plain badass! She is literally just plain badass. The fact that this young woman has been through addiction, eating disorders, and a bunch of other crazy crap and still come up on top is amazing. We’re the same age and I haven’t even gone through 10% of that! I really enjoyed reading her interview and I wanted to share a few of her thoughts on body image that may just help you all with confidence 🙂

As I said before, Demi Lovato was flaunting her body during her Complex magazine photoshoot. She has recovered from her eating disorders but still admits to nitpicking her photos from time to time. She states, “Lately, I’ve been coming to terms with my imperfections and not obsessing so much about trying to make myself perfect,” she says. “It’s a growing process.” Demi’s new album is promoting a new, bolder, sexier Demi and she says it’s the most liberating thing. In her interview, she spoke about a photo that was posted of her on social media where she had cellulite. She claims it was “cellulite city”. She admits that at first she cringed, but once the she read the caption praising her for being comfortable rocking a bathing suit in her own skin, her feelings changed.

Demi also touched upon how curves are now celebrated instead of shamed. She realized the shift in the body image trend…

“For so long, it was the heroin-chic ’90s supermodel thing, and I feel like, when the Kardashians came into the picture, people started to look at it because it was different. They were like, “You know what? That’s actually really beautiful.” From then, I noticed that Beyoncé was thicker, and Nicki Minaj is thicker. When I say thick—like when I call my thighs thick—I love it. I think it’s a good thing. Watching them really helped me learn to accept my body image, too. I’m not naturally super thin. I have an athletic body. I just have to embrace that. There are days when it’s hard to, but more and more, there are days where I’m actually proud of my body”

BOOM. That quote basically says everything worth saying in a nutshell! People tend to miss the point completely and think one body type is better than the other. WRONG. The point is being comfortable in your skin and most of all, being HEALTHY. Whether you’re a size 2 or 10, be a healthy size 2 or 10. Be comfortable being a size 2 or 10. Demi Lovato is on the thicker side, so obviously she’s going to embrace the body image that applies to HER. That doesn’t mean she is putting down any other body types.

I highly suggest that anyone with body image issues or confidence issues period should definitely check out the interview here!

Mariah Carey x MAC Cosmetics

Hey, dears! I sense a popular theme going on in the entertainment and beauty world. It seems these days a lot of well-known celebrities are collaborating with MAC Cosmetics. I feel like every celebrity beauty collaboration that I’ve heard of involves MAC Cosmetics! Sheesh, I love me some MAC but I didn’t know they got the juice like that!

As we all know Mariah Carey is famous for a lot of songs. However, I know that whenever people think of Mariah Carey’s music, one song that stands out is of course “All I Want For Christmas Is You”. So, it comes to no surprise that she will be releasing a frosty, champagne nude shade of lipstick this December called “All I Want”! However, her entire line, MAC Beauty Icon, won’t be released until next year.

So, who here will be buying some of this diva’s makeup collection?!

Top 5 Moments of the 2015 VMAS

Last night was an interesting award show, to say nonetheless. Now, it didn’t give me life 10x over like last years #BeyMAs. Let’s be real, I didn’t expect it to haha. Nevertheless, there were some interesting moments and here are my top 5…

(via pitchfork.com)

5. The Weeknd Performs “I Can’t Feel My Face”

It’s so refreshing to see Abel come out of the shadows. He’s been low-key for his whole music career and to see him perform at an award show AND with an upbeat song is insane. He killed it and I love him!

(via billboard.com)

4. Pharell Performing “Freedom”

You can’t lie and say this socially conscious song wasn’t everything, especially since it was performed right after Kanye West’s speech. Not to mention, Pharell’s music is amazing and I’m convinced he’s a vampire. He doesn’t age a day.

3. Taylor Swift & Nicki Minaj’s Performance

As we all know, Taylor and Nicki had a spat on Twitter. I was pretty stunned when I saw Taylor just waltz on stage when Nicki was performing! My exact words were “OH? *confused expression* They even hugged after their performance which led to the hashtag #whatbadblood?

(via micdotcom)

2. “Miley, what’s good?”

I know I wasn’t the only one who was like “Oh, shit.” when this happened. First off, let’s start with how Nicki Minaj’s voice changed like 5x during her acceptance speech hahahaha. Then ended it with that thugnificent “Miley, what’s good?” Priceless. The question is where did that come from? After the Taylor and Nicki Twitter spat, Miley decided to comment on it during an interview with The New York Times. Miley states regarding Nicki Minaj’s tweet, “What I read sounded very Nicki Minaj, which, if you know Nicki Minaj is not too kind. It’s not very polite.” Oh really? She continued to say, “You [Nicki Minaj] made it about you. Not to sound like a b***h, but that’s like, “Eh, I didn’t get my V.M.A.” WOW. However, when confronted she said the media “manipulates” shit. Uh huh. Either way it was interesting to watch, LOL.

  1. Kanye West’s Acceptance Speech

You guys knew this was gonna be #1. Why? Kanye West did nothing but spit his truth. Was it long? Sure. Was it outspoken? Obviously, it’s Yeezy. But, it was honesty. If you wanted to know who Kanye really is, he showed you in that acceptance speech. It was his moment. He’s not forcing anyone to agree with him. Let him live. Then to end that speech saying he’s running for president in 2020?!?! What!? Okay then, Kanye Luther King Jr. It was just the best moment of the VMAS this year, hands down. I bet MTV regrets giving him the mic for that long, ha!
