Beyoncé x #LEMONADE

(via breatheheavy.com)

Hey, dears! Let us just get right into it because you guys all know that I’m a Beyoncé stan. I am definitely a member of the Beyhive. So it’s no surprise that I’m about to talk about #LEMONADE. Now in case you live in a box with no access to the outside world, let me tell you what the hell #LEMONADE is. It is the SECOND visual album that Beyonce dropped out of nowhere. This woman knows how to make headlines! But again, no surprise.

At first, the album was only available via Tidal. Now, it’s available on iTunes and Amazon.  However, people have been sharing the whole thing via social media, specifically Facebook. When I mean the whole thing, I mean the VISUAL part. Now, if you want the tracks you may wanna check out Tidal, iTunes, Amazon… or some other sneaky method if you have one.

A big difference between her 2 visual albums is the layout and content. As oppose to “Beyonce” album, “Lemonade” is a whole story in one basically. It flows from one song to another into an hour long masterpiece. Also, this new album is basically about infidelity. There are some other topics hidden in the story, such as Black power and women power, but it’s mainly about infidelity. The stages of it. The emotions. The roller coaster. The best thing is that it’s all coming from a woman’s standpoint which makes it super relatable. Let’s be honest, every woman has been heartbroken so they’ll be able to relate to this album. Whether it’s a song or the whole album, it’s relatable.

I would honestly have to say this is probably the most artistic album Beyonce has ever done. Her last one was pretty creative but this one had deeper meaning all across the board! So if you want to be stimulated mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, WATCH IT. I’ve shared it on my Facebook so go take a look!

Best & Worst Dressed: Met Gala 2015

I know it’s a bit late in the day but better late than never. This blog was in need of a red carpet fashion post so here it is. Last night’s Met Gala was themed China: Through the Looking Glass. Just a disclaimer, I didn’t like much of the fashion at the Met Gala this year. I was left unimpressed and disappointed. So, let’s just start…

Best Dressed

Siena Miller (via hollywoodreporter.com)

This outfit doesn’t make me say “Oh my God!”, “Stunning.”, “Gorgeous”, etc but it does leave me saying “Unique” in a good way. Plus, I see the Chinese theme.

Beyonce (via hollywoodreporter.com)

I love me some Queen Bey. Although I think she looks gorgeous in this outfit, I expected more. Mesh with jewels isn’t going to “wow” me, especially when it’s Beyonce! But she did look gorgeous last night. So needless to say, she’s one of the best dressed. I do hate that hair though!

Rihanna (via mtv,com)

Rihanna pulled this off seamlessly! Why? This outfit is “out there” to the point where I don’t understand it but I love it. Again though, I’m not a fan of the hair.

Lizzy Caplan (via laineygossip.com)

I absolutely love everything about this! Everything.

Keri Russell (via usmagazine.com)

I love the color and I love that the dress looks scaly. It gives me the dangerous mermaid/bird hybrid vibe. It’s gorgeous.

Worst Dressed

Let me start off by saying, I couldn’t narrow this down to 6 or less so I’m just gonna group them. Here we go…

Solange – What? It IS unique but just too confusing.

Chloe Sevigny – Good try at trying to emulate the theme but it’s not good.

Elizabeth Banks – It’s the red carpet. It’s the MET GALA. It’s themed. Get with it. That dress is beyond basic.

Irina Shayk – It reminds me of something a 90s girl would wear to prom.

Anne Hathaway – Basic and I know she can do better.

Katy Perry – Team too much.

Kim K – That gown does nothing for her but makes her shoulders look to wide. When I look at it, I think “armor”.

Chloe Grace Moretz – Again, can we at least try. That dress is not cute nor close to the theme.

Best & Worst Dressed: The Grammys 2015

The red carpet at the Grammys had plenty of hits and misses. Let’s just get right to it…

Best Dressed

Beyonce (via glamour.com)

Queen Bey slays the red carpet 90% of the time. I think the last time i HATED her outfit was at the Met Gala in 2013.

Nicki Minaj (via glamour.com)

This gown….I’m here for it. Nicki gave me the ultimate life last night with this look. Everything is on point! The hair, the makeup, the accessories, EVERYTHING!

Gwen Stefani (via usmagazine.com)

Gwen Stefani is another one drinking from the fountain of youth! This outfit suits her personality perfectly!

Taylor Swift (via mtv.com)

Taylor Swift may not be my fave but this gown is beautiful, especially the color. I like that she paired it with fuschia shoes.

Rocsi Diaz (via theybf.com)

Rocsi Diaz was just glistening and giving us body on the red carpet. LOVE IT!

Katy Perry (via eonline.com)

Stunning! This mid-length dress is STUNNING! I’m glad she decided short hair for this look cause I don’t think long hair would mesh just as nicely.

Worst Dressed

Iggy Azalea (zap2it.com)

I hate the bottom of this dress AND what the hell is up with that hair? She reminds me of a German milkmaid. Braids can look gorgeous but that hairstyle was a flop!

Carlie XCX (via eonline.com)

Madonna (via eonline.com)

Madonna is always one to make a statement but this is more of a costume. I wouldn’t mind if she wore this while performing but not on the red carpet.

Rihanna (via glamour.com)

I LOVE Bad Gyal Ri Ri! She has never been on my worst dressed list but this gown killed me. I don’t have a problem that she wanted to give that big fluffy princess vibe but NOT with tulle fabric, especially PINK tulle fabric. I hate to say that she reminds me of a loofah. So many memes have been bashing this outfit and I don’t blame anyone.

Kim Kardashian (brit.co)

I like that she’s giving luxe but this looks like a bathrobe. The sleeves are too long and the shoulders are throwing me off. But, I do love her new hair!

Jane Fonda (via ok.uk.co)

Jane Fonda just looks like she’s about to fight crime.

Joy Villa (via popcrush.com)

Now this right here is a prime example of TRYING TO LOOK LIKE CRAP. If you want to dress in construction net, be my guest. Just don’t say you thought it was high fashion or glam.

Best & Worst Dressed: Met Gala 2014

Hey dolls! This is no surprise! Fashenty ALWAYS has a best and worst dressed post after a major red carpet event! Let’s do this thing!

Beyonce in Givenchy

Queen B was FLAWLESS in Givenchy at this year’s Met Gala. She definitely looked better than last year.

Rihanna in Stella McCartney

It’s no surprise that RiRi slayed this year. Her fashion is always on point in my opinion.

Blake Lively in Gucci

GAH! Blake Lively gave me lifeeeeee this year at the Met Gala. She’s just stunning.

Gisele Bundchen in Balenciaga

She’s simple, sexy, and elegant .. enough said.

Dita Von Teese in Zac Posen

This pin up beauty knows EXACTLY how to accentuate those curves.

Charlize Theron in Dior Haute Couture

Not surprised that Charlize Theron looking absolutely amazing in Dior.

Sandra Lee

She reminds me of the tooth fairy…

Maggie Gyllenhaal

This reminds me of curtains that would be in a 70’s household.

Kate Upton

She is beautifullllll. So why wear a dress that does NOTHING for her?

Kirsten Dunst

This was NOT a good choice.

Gabrielle Union

This is TOO MUCH, just TOO TOO much.

Bill O’Reilly Disses Beyonce

Fox News anchor, Bill O’Reilly, decided to speak out against Beyonce during his interview with Russell Simmons yesterday. According to O’Reilly, Beyonce is a bad role model for young girls. He stated, “She puts out a new album with a video that glorifies having sex in the back of a limousine. Teenage girls look up to Beyoncé, particularly girls of color…Why on Earth would this woman do that?” He also said that her music video “Partition” was “inexplicable” and “exploitative garbage”. He also stated that why would she do this knowing the “devastation of unwanted pregnancies”.

Here’s what I have to say … He’s full of it. She’s a bad role model? Give me a break. People have been singing about sex FOR YEARS AND YEARS. NOW, he wants to go and throw her under the bus and insinuate that she’s telling girls to have sex and that there is some “linkage” between that and unwanted pregnancies. HUH?! He’s a hater. Miley Cyrus is a bad role model. Justin Beiber is a bad role model. Lindsay Lohan is a bad role model … but I appreciate her attempting to get her stuff together.

ANYWAY, Bill O’Reilly is just full of it and Queen B is still gonna do her thing!

Beyonce Turned Stylist

I’ve been posting about Beyonce often lately but it’s only because a lot of major news is about her. I don’t WANT to post about her all time. I believe she’s slightly overrated but I can’t deny the fact that she is talented and knows how to steal that spotlight.

Queen B is at it again! She is a one woman show. Not only is she one of Forbes Most Powerful Women in the World along with a singer, an actress, a wife, a mother, and not to mention the face of Pepsi.. she has now decided to be a stylist! I swear she dabbles in everything.

If you’re a fan of Beyonce’s style, I suggest you go to Rent the Runway. It’s website where people can rent designer gowns, dresses, and accessories. Beyonce has decided to become a stylist on this website and has personally picked her favorite selections. She has her own area on the website that is dedicated to her style.  Why did she decide to do this?  Beyonce stated, “Making women feel confident is something I’ve always been passionate about. That’s why joining forces with Rent the Runway was so organic.”

Well now that she’s dipping her fingers into the fashion industry, I wonder if she’s going to follow in Rihanna’s footsteps and launch her own clothing line. You never know .. she does everything else 🙂

Beyonce’s Power Status Rises

Beyonce continues and continues to climb the success ladder.  Forbes has released The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women for the 2013 year and it seems like Beyonce has become more and more powerful. Last year, she was #32 and this year she is #17. That’s a bit of climb there. She is only 4 spots away from Oprah, who is #13 on the list. Queen B is now the second most powerful entrepreneur and entertainer!

Does that surprise me? Nope. Beyonce’s status has been rising and rising for years. Her tour has made her extremely successful and popular. There is no reason that she wouldn’t climb the power ladder. Plus her fan base is ridiculously large. I give her props though! She may not be my favorite artist but I do give credit when it’s do. This diva is doing the damn thing. So congrats to her.
