Hey, darlings! I’m baaaaaaaaaaaack! I know it has been such a long hiatus, but it’s been one hell of a spring & summer. So many changes have been happening so blogging had to take a backseat for a while. However, I have a lot of new content ideas so expect to see me regularly posting.
Now, let’s get back to Hit or Miss! I’ve been using Sol de Janeiro’s Bum Bum Cream for about 4 months now and I absolutely loveeeeee it. It’s basically a cream that tightens and smooths your skin, OVER TIME. So don’t expect immediate results. However, the smell and the glow it gives your skin is AMAZING! I feel more attractive and luscious when I put this on my body. Some the ingredients include: coconut oil, acai, guarana, and cupuacu butter. Also, the consistency is bit thick so a little goes a long way.
All of my friends who I’ve recommended this cream to love it! I suggest you guys buy its ASAP. You can get it the 8 oz jar at Sephora for $45. If you wanna try it before you fully commit, the travel size is $20.
Hello, people! So, I’ve decided to give you guys a little break on hair product reviews. I know not all of my readers have curly hair and I want everyone to benefit from my reviews. I was accepted into Influenster’s St. Ives Live Radiantly Campaign and here is what I think of the products…
Let’s start with the Fresh Skin Apricot Body Scrub. I’ve used it for 2 weeks now and I definitely notice a difference. My skin is very, very dry during the winter months. I will admit sometimes I get lazy and skip body lotion all together. When I use this in the shower, my skin feels soft immediately. I would suggest using this right after you shave so you can see how soft this product can really get your skin.
I’ve always been a fan of St. Ives body lotions. They absorb so quickly into the skin and that’s the main thing that I look for in a lotion. I hate feeling slick and sticky. If you use this lotion following the scrub, your skin will be immaculate. However, if you opt for just the lotion, your skin will still feel soft but not as soft.
Overall, I enjoyed both products and will continue to use them in unison. 🙂
Note: I’ve received these products complimentary for testing purposes.
Hey, babes! I know the weather has been pretty erratic this fall season. I live in NYC and the weather has been going from 56 degrees to 76 degrees – it’s pretty damn annoying. I like a cool fall. Not this spring weather in November. It’s just plain ridiculous, but I digress. Everyone has purse necessities, but they do tend to change depending on the situation and season. I would hope that if you live in a place that snows, you wouldn’t be taking sunblock with you on a daily basis in your bag during the winter. So, I wanted to share with you guys what I personally think are must haves for your purse this fall and winter.
Lip Balm Lips obviously tend to get more dry during the winter, for obvious reasons. Chapped lips are not cute at all! So be sure to pack some lip balm.
Kleenex The cooler months are when nosebleeds, colds, flu, viruses, etc are rampant. So, keep those germs AND blood to yourself with some tissues!
Hand Sanitizer While we are on the subject of germs, hand sanitizer is the best way to keep you from catching and spreading germs.
Umbrella As I’ve said, the weather is freaking unpredictable. You obviously don’t want to be caught in an unexpected storm. So, you always need to have an umbrella. ALWAYS.
Lotion Once again, skin can get more dry due to the weather change. So, always bring some lotion to keep that skin soft.
Hairbrush/Comb Wind is my enemy. I always carry a small brush to get my hair together when the weather wants to try me.
Lint Roller When you wear dark colors, lint and hair tends to just stick to you! I have to wear black for work and it seems that once I leave my house, my outfit is covered in lint. A mini lint roller is perfect and convenient for those situations!
It’s Monday babies, so let’s get right into this review! I received this product complimentary from Influenster. I got a sample size to try out so don’t be fooled. I didn’t get a whole jar. I’ve been trying out the product for about 3 weeks and here are my thoughts.
According to the ulta.com description, this product “energizes and hydrates for healthy looking radiant skin. Created to help your dry skin behave like normal skin and provide tailored skin nutrition for healthy looking, bright and beautiful skin.” Keep in mind that this product is for normal/dry skin. My skin is far from dry; it’s skin is combo/oily. However, I gave it a shot. What I enjoy about this product is that it does absorb pretty quickly and it makes my skin feel soft instantly. However, when I wake in the morning my skin feels incredibly greasy and I HATE that. Also, I’m not a fan of moisturizers that don’t do anything but basically moisturize. I need a product that’s going to go beyond its main purpose. Every moisturizer I’ve tried has other things that it does besides moisturize. Whether it fought acne, cleared dark spots, diminished pores or wrinkles, it did something. Unfortunately, when I use this product I feel like I can use any cream on my face and get the same results. I’m not impressed. I ultimately have to say this was a MISS in my book, mainly because I wanted more out of the product.
I do think that this product can work for people with dry skin, but oily skin people need to steer clear. If you’d like to purchase it, you can find it at Ulta for $14.99.
Note: I’ve received this product complimentary for testing purposes.
Happy Hump Day! Today I wanted to share with you guys my new box of goodies from Influenster. For those of you who don’t know about Influenster, it’s a website where you sign up and write reviews on any type of product. It can be anything – tech, food, books, music, beauty, fashion, etc. Once you build up your profile, you’ll be invited to see if you qualify for different voxbox programs. I’ve been a member since December 2013 and I’ve received about 6-7 voxboxes so far. The best thing is it’s free to join! It’s a great program for all you social media junkies out there.
Anyway, I just received my Fiesta VoxBox and I’m excited to try out the products and share with you my thoughts! Here’s what was included:
Suave Smoothing Lotion with Cocoa Butter & Shea (I already own this product and love it! haha :D)
Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner
NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny (720A)
Premier Protein Yogurt Peanut Crunch Bar
No.7 Beautiful Skin Night Cream
Outback Steakhouse coupon for one FREE Bloomin Onion
No.7 Beautiful Skin coupon for $2 off any facial care item at Target
Coupon for a FREE Daisy Squeeze Sour Cream
Coupon for $5 off any Healthfull bread product
So yeah, it’s a pretty handy voxbox. I definitely can’t wait to try the bronzer and the night cream. I also can’t wait to get my FREE Bloomin Onion at Outbacks! Who doesn’t love free stuff?! I can’t lie that I’m kind of hesitant about using Not Your Mother’s again, but maybe I’ll enjoy their shampoo and conditioner. An old classmate of mine recommended that I try their hair growing shampoo and conditioner, so maybe they do have some good products.
Once again, it’s Monday. So it’s time for another Hit or Miss. For this week’s post, you guys voted for a skincare product so let’s jump in, shall we?
I’ve seen this product in the drugstore for a while now so I decided to try it. It’s about $20 but I’ve seen it in some places for $15. It’s an acne system with a cleanser, toner, and lotion, and it’s supposed to work for 24 hours. So, pretty much a similar thing to Proactiv or Murad. However, it comes in 3 different types: sensitive, normal, severe. It all depends on your acne. My acne isn’t horrible. I only break up during that lovely time of the month. Also, my skin is pretty tough and it doesn’t react crazy to any products. Therefore, I bought the regular one.
Here’s what I think after 2 weeks of trying it. The cleanser and toner are alright but nothing special. However, the cream bothers the crap out of me. It feels gritty. I feels like there’s sand in it and I HATE it. I don’t know if it’s for exfoliation but I don’t like it. Also, I don’t like the smell too much but it’s not incredibly horrible.
But the point is … does it work? What I say is NO. I know that most people have used this product as a Proactiv dupe but don’t even bother. It doesn’t prevent future breakouts or do anything for your current pimples. Also, it has a tendency to dry out the skin. I find that crazy because we all know I have oily skin sooo I was definitely confused. I’ve put rubbing alcohol on my face plenty of times in the past (which I don’t recommend) and my skin was fine. However, this product was making some areas of my face dry. This product is definitely a MISS in my book.
