Wanderlust: Travel Bucket List

Hey, babes! One thing that I’m determined to do before I leave this earth is TRAVEL. My best friend is a flight attendant as well as one of her best friends. Therefore, the wanderlust has been growingĀ inside me! I decided to make a list of all the places I want to visit and now I’m going to share with my lovely subscribers <3.

Also, let me know if you’re ever visited any of these places and how’d you like it! šŸ˜€

  • Australia –Ā The obsession of visiting Australian started with loving Australian accents, followed with loving “Finding Nemo”. Hahaha šŸ™‚

  • Greece –Ā The island of Mykonos is probably one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen through pictures!

  • Hawaii –Ā Fortunately, I’ll be going to Hawaii for my 24th birthday this year :)!

  • RomeĀ – I’ve always wanted to go to Rome since I was little due to the movie “Sabrina Goes to Rome” hahaha. I can’t help that childhood movies are so inspiring! I’m also dying to throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain.

  • Iceland –Ā I’ll be honest. Iceland is on the list simply because of the Blue Lagoon. You can’t deny how beautiful it looks.

  • Brazil –Ā Everytime I think of Brazil, I think of fun, lively, carefree people. So why not visit?

  • Costa Rica I’ve had friends who have visited and they have nothing but great things to say.

  • Thailand – First off, I love me some Thai food. Also, after seeing ANTM Cycle 6, I just knew I had to visit someday!

  • Switzerland –Ā If I had to visit any country with a country hillside vibe, it would hands down be Switzerland. My aunt and uncle visited and said it still is their favorite trip to this day.

  • Los Angeles –Ā I’m an NYC girl who isĀ over NYC. So naturally my next city I’d love to live in and visit is LA.

  • SeattleĀ I couldn’t tell you why I want to visit Seattle. Perhaps it’s becauseĀ I’m drawn to city places more thanĀ suburban.

  • Texas –Ā There is only ONE reason I want to visit Texas. I’m sure you’ve already guessed it: Selena! Anything for Selenasssssssss!

Adult Coloring Therapy

Hey, dears! Let’s talk relaxation.

Lately, I’ve been under some stress so I decided to turn to adult coloring. Why? Because I’ve heard so many great things about it. I’ve read articles that adult coloring has even been used in people with illnesses, such as cancer and epilepsy. Doctors say that it provides relaxation and it’s soothing because the outcome is predictable. I honestly couldn’t agree more.

What makes adult coloring “adult” is the fact that the coloring books don’t contain cartoons or other child-like things. The books contain intricate patterns, such as the one you see pictured. It requires some real focus to get in the zone when you’re coloring.Ā Usually, I turn to reading or music when I’m stressed out. However, music can sometimes just make me think more about my problems. Reading helps a little better but sometimes I drift off and go back to focusing on my stress. That doesn’t happen to me at all with coloring. I’m so focused on what I’m doing that my mind doesn’t drift off at all. That is exactly what I need in times of stress.

You can find adult coloring books in Barnes & Nobles and Amazon. The price range Ā is around $10-20. I’m currently using twistable crayons, but colored pencils are definitely better for patterns that are more detailed.

Let that creativity flourish. Happy Coloring!

3 Ways To Use Jamaican Black Castor Oil

DSCI0022 2

Hey, dears! I wanted to chat with you guys today about how I use Jamaican Black Castor oil on a daily basis. I came across this oil by researching natural hair tips and tricks. So, let’s jump in, shall we?

  • HairĀ The biggest way I use JBC is for my hair health. I rub it into my scalp about 2-3x a week. A little goes a super long way so don’t go HAM. The consistency is also thick so rub it in between you palms so it gets warm and thinner in consistency. You can also use it on your ends and as a hot oil treatment. The biggest benefit I’ve seen so far is that my hair has become stronger andĀ grows faster.
  • Eyelashes and Eyebrows I barely have any eyelashes so I’ve been using this to see if something changes. So far, I haven’t noticed much of a difference. However, my eyebrows are definitely growing in more evenly. I naturally have full brows, but when I shape them the hair grows back a little funky. Since using this, the growth pattern is better.
  • AcneĀ Most acne is caused by an overproduction of sebum (oil). That’s why it’s importantĀ to moisturize your face, even if you’re oily skinned. If you don’t your skin will try to compensate and that’s how pimples form. You can use JBC by just massaging a little on your problem areas then rinsing it off after 10 minutes. Make sure your pores are open before you apply the oil so your skin can fully absorb the product.

My Visit to The Met

Hey, all! This post is going to be more cultural and religious. I went to The Metropolitan Museum of Art the other day with my aunt and uncle to do a tour. The Oasis Biblical Tours are basically tours that tie in museum artifacts to the Bible. The specific part of the Bible that we were focused on is the scripture Genesis 3:15. If you’re wondering why I decided to do this tour, it’s because I’m trying to work on my spiritual growth. Needless to say, I thought this would perfect opportunity.

This is post isn’t going to be me preaching or anything. It’s just simply me sharing some photos of my time at the museum. If you want more information or want to experience a tour yourself, check out the website :).

Egyptians would keep the organs of the dead in these urns, except for the heart. The heart would be wrapped and put back in the chest cavity.

This is a crown that has all Egpytian gods on it.

This is a statue of the Egyptian goddess Ammut. Egyptians believed that if your heart was un pure after death, she would eat you.

Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas

I’m baaaaaaack dolls! I know I took a mini hiatus, but I’ve been trying to get my life together all across the board. Something had to give and that something was the blog. However, I’ll be doing my damnedest to be as consistent for you guys as my schedule permits! Moving on, I’ve only celebrated V-day twice in my life with a significant other. However, my mom still buys me chocolate to this day and I’m not complaining. Personally, I’m not much of a V-day person because you need to show someone you love them in different ways all the time. Trust, I’m not a hater because I’m single haha. I realize that some people LOVEEEEEE this man made holiday and I figure why not shoot you guys a little gift guide if you’re stumped on what to get your babe. So, let’s go…

  • Clothes Only do this is you 100% know your partner’s style. It can become a real flop real quick if you A) don’t know their sizes and B) don’t know their style.
  • Useful thingsĀ To me, the best gift is always something you can use. It can be makeup, a fragrance, a tech item, an appliance, spa voucher etc.
  • Sentimental thingsĀ If you’re creative and on a tight budget, make a scrapbook or how about maybe propose?! Hahahahahaha! Kidding! But, if you are planning on doing that, best of luck to you and congrats :).
  • Tickets If your gf/bf is into sports, concerts, live shows, etc surprise them with some tickets! You can take it one step further and get some plane tickets to a great getaway.

The best thing about this is even if you’re single, you can do all of these for yourself. I mean, you can’t really proposed to yourself but besides that, you’re gold! šŸ™‚ Whatever you do, DON’T OVERTHINK OR UNDERTHINK! Keep it sweet and genuine.

Announcement: Curly Hair Journey

Hey, darlings! Today I want to talk about my decision to go “natural”, which for me basically means restoring AND embracing my curly hair full time. I was born with semi-straight hair but when I hit 1 years old the curls came throughhhhhh! However, when I was about 6 years old, my mother started to use relaxers on my hair due to my hair being really curly and thick. A year ago, I wrote about Dove’s Embrace Your Curls campaign and it inspired me to cut out chemical damage but not heat damage. I would still use flat irons and curling irons on my hair. Now, I regret it and I’m ready to go curly haired full-time.

I reached this decision a little before New Year’s Eve. I was Instagram and was looking through the @curlbox account and I was in AWE! Literally in AWE. These women have gorgeous, healthy, big, curly hair and they embrace it to the fullest. That’s when I went curl crazy and started looking at a bunch of curly haired accounts such as @aframerican_curls, @curlyhairkillas, @curlynatural, and @aboutthatcurl. Here are some pictures from those pages…

These are pages with a bunch of different curly haired women. Some specific curly haired women that I follow are @ck_frias, @caandyvonnee, @carly_amador, @goldennn_xo, @tylauren, and @muchmorethanbeauty.

I’m aware that I have curly hair but it’s not as healthy as it can be and the curl definition is WEAK. Some parts of my hair don’t curl at all. They stay straight and that’s due to heat damage. My curl pattern is all messed up! You can tell by just looking at it that it’s been through a hella crap. I need that volume, that definition, that moisture ASAP. Unfortunately, I know I’m not gonna achieve that overnight. I need to be dedicated to tossing the heat out the window and treating my hair well. It’s gonna be a challenge to stay away from heat all together but I’m definitely not doing the flat iron ever again.I’m never doing chemical treatments on my hair again either.Ā I may do the blow dryer but I’m trying to do without it for AT LEAST 8 months.

If anyone of you are natural curly haired girls yourself and have any tips to reviving your hair to health, let a girl know ā¤

Wish me luck!

Bucket List 2016

(via tumblr)

Hey, dears. Instead of doing the typical New Year’s Resolutions and Yearly Goals, I wanted to do a yearly bucket list. Why? I find it more fun and a smidge less cliche. So, here is what I wanna do before the year is over.

  1. Go on a carnival date. I feel like it’s so retro šŸ™‚
  2. Learn to make sushi. It’s my favorite food so why not learn, right?
  3. Visit Selena’s Memorial Museum in Corpus Christi, TX. SHE IS MY IDOL.
  4. Visit Hawaii.
  5. Visit Los Angeles.
  6. Go to Coachella.
  7. See Beyonce LIVE šŸ˜€
  8. Go to a drive-in movie. Again.. retro šŸ™‚
  9. Skydive.
  10. Go to a talk show..preferably Ellen or The Real.

I think everyone should make a yearly bucket list! I feel like in a way it makes you more motivated to do the things on ’em.
