Best Selena Makeup Tutorials

Hey, all. I figured that since the Mac Selena collection recently launched that I should share with you my favorite Selena-inspired makeup/hair looks on YouTube. I feel like these videos really captured her essence & look best.

Favorite Beauty Icons

Hey, dolls! Let’s talk makeup and those who slay putting it on. I definitely did a post like this way back when I first started blogging. However, it was celebrity focused. Since then, I’ve realized there are so many beautiful women out there who slay in the beauty world. They can be celebrities or not. So, I wanted to share with you guys my all-time favorite beauty icons which are women whose makeup I love all day every day. These are the ones I get my inspiration from.

Lora Arellano (via

If you guys don’t know this badass chick, get with the program! She is one the boss ladies at Melt Cosmetics and Rihanna’s makeup artist. This woman is incredibly talented and creative with everything she does. Whether she is doing full glam or something light, she is just pure gorgeousness. Her overall swag is just…. BOSS.

Raye Boyce (via

One thing that I’ve always loved about Raye is that her natural beauty always shines through her makeup. Also, she all these big features and knows how to work them. Big hair, big brows, big eyes, big lips, etc. She’s just plain beautiful. Her makeup looks are always perfect. She mostly goes natural-esque but when she goes all’s stunning! If I had to replicate someone’s makeup looks every day for the rest of my life, it would be hers.

Zoe Saldana (via

Zoe Saldana’s makeup is always classic. She doesn’t do full glam. She’s more of a natural glam goddess and that’s my favorite type. Don’t get me wrong, though! I do love some bold colors from time to time. However, I’m more of a fan of this.

Hit or Miss: Maybelline’s Master Graphic Eyeliner

Hey, dears. So, I was debating on whether or not to buy this for a while. However, after seeing Raye Boyce and another blogger use it, I decided to try it out.

Naturally, I do my winged eye with gel liner. I just feel like I have better control with it. I’m not too crazy about liquid liner unless it’s to darken what I already have drawn out. Plus, I’m not finessed enough when it comes to drawing a wing with liquid liner. From what I heard, this pen makes doing a winged eye so much easier because of the shape of the pen.

It’s shaped as an angled bold marker. So, you would assume it would be easier to draw the cat eye shape. However, I wouldn’t say that 100% the case. This eyeliner pen isn’t the greatest, but it isn’t the worst either. It has worked for me a couple of time, but it has also frustrated the crap out of me a few times. My issue with it is that it draws a thick ass line if you’re trying to do it swiftly, like 123! If you’re a fan of a more dainty wing, then you’d have to use the tip of the marker and be careful not to eff it up. For me, this product is so-so. Yes, you can draw a cat eye easily but it’ll be a thick one, 9 times out 10. Hence, why they call it the “master graphic”. It gives you a bolder look. The lasting power is good too, but I personally prefer to stick to my gel liner.

Super Affordable Matte Lipsticks

Hello darlings! Let’s just jump right in…

Matte lips are the trend right now. Everyone and their mother is launching a new matte lipstick collection, specifically liquid matte lipsticks. Kat Von D, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Lime Crime, Dose of Colors, etc are pretty well known for their liquid matte lipsticks. But, I’m on a budget so I don’t have $20-$25 to be dropping every time I want to get a new shade of a matte lipstick! So, I went hunting and  fellow lipstick junkie, Raye (itsmyrayeraye), from Youtube had a few videos up pertaining to affordable matte lipsticks.  like me. I came across one of her videos where she discusses Ruby Kisses lipstick. These lipsticks are $2.99! Yes, $2.99 honey. They’re super pigmented and there are plenty of bold colors available. I snagged 5 colors and here they are.

Left to Right: Capri Orange, Red Mangrove, Electric Coral, Sugar Pink, Plum Wine

I ordered these babies online and paid about $24 dollars total including shipping. I honestly have to say I really enjoy them and the colors I chose. I will say they can get a bit drying throughout the day, but if you apply a great lip balm before applying you shouldn’t have much of a problem. Color payoff is magnificent. Longevity isn’t too shabby either. If you’re on a budget like moi but need new lipsticks in your life, I’d definitely check Ruby Kisses out. Plum Wine and Electric Coral have to be my ultimate faves so far.

Aaliyah Inspired Makeup Tutorials

So I didn’t want to end my Aaliyah themed posts on a negative note with that dumbass movie. So let’s be more upbeat and talk makeup! Aaliyah was more of a natural makeup gal. She wasn’t the caked, glam type. Her natural beauty was always enough! However, I know a lot of people were fans of her makeup in her music videos. It just so happens that two of my favorite Youtube ladies, MsRoshPosh and ItsMyRayeRaye, have decided to film Aaliyah inspired makeup tutorials!

So if you were in loveeeeeeee with Aaliyah’s makeup in “We Need A Resolution”, peep MsRoshPosh’s makeup tutorial.

If you’re a true Aaliyah fan, you’ve definitely seen “Romeo Must Die”. ItsMyRayeRaye recreated one of her looks from the film and I think she did a damn good job. Check it out!

Enjoy! xx

Must See Beauty Vloggers

Hi all! So I know I’m doing this post for the THIRD time this year. Why? Because I AM utterly obsessed with finding more beauty gurus on YouTube! Now we all know I love Nicole Guerriero, Carli Bybel, Jaclyn Hill, Lauren Curtis, and Rositaapplebum! I have a few other good ones like Amanda Ensing, Melisa Michelle, etc. You can get some info on these lovely ladies here and here. But today, we are going to be talking about four new ladies who I loveeee to watch on Youtube. Let’s jump in, shall we?

Raschelle is not only beautiful and talented but she is HUMBLE! I find that to be a rare trait on Youtube. Some people I watch on Youtube and they’re stuck up, fake, or RUSH through their tutorials and THAT I have no time for. Ms Rosh Posh is so sweet and explains everything so well. She actually cares about her viewers and her makeup looks are amazing (from neutral to bold) – point blank and the period! I don’t know what the hell I’ve been doing without subscribing to her channel. LOVE HER!!!

Desi is glam! She can be glamazon but I find her looks to have a good range. They’re definitely wearable and she NEVER LOOKS CAKED! Her eye looks are without a doubt my favorite! I mean come on, look at those eyes! Gorgeous! So if you’re into experimenting with different yet wearable makeup looks, check her out!

Katy is another one who has various eye looks! She’s big on cut-creasing. Her makeup looks are wearable EVERDAY! Desi has a range but Katy’s makeup is best described as “neutral but still giving face” *snap*. I’m obsessed with her channel because literally I can wear pretty much any of her looks without questioning if I may be going overboard.

Girlllll, probably one of the most down to earth beauty vloggers I’ve watched. She’s just silly! Her makeup looks range but never get TOO GLAMAZON! Plus, I’m obsessed with her hair. She always looks so naturally gorgeous!
