Beyoncé x #LEMONADE

Hey, dears! Let us just get right into it because you guys all know that I’m a Beyoncé stan. I am definitely a member of the Beyhive. So it’s no surprise that I’m about to talk about #LEMONADE. Now in case you live in a box with no access to the outside world, let me tell you what the hell #LEMONADE is. It is the SECOND visual album that Beyonce dropped out of nowhere. This woman knows how to make headlines! But again, no surprise.

At first, the album was only available via Tidal. Now, it’s available on iTunes and Amazon.  However, people have been sharing the whole thing via social media, specifically Facebook. When I mean the whole thing, I mean the VISUAL part. Now, if you want the tracks you may wanna check out Tidal, iTunes, Amazon… or some other sneaky method if you have one.

A big difference between her 2 visual albums is the layout and content. As oppose to “Beyonce” album, “Lemonade” is a whole story in one basically. It flows from one song to another into an hour long masterpiece. Also, this new album is basically about infidelity. There are some other topics hidden in the story, such as Black power and women power, but it’s mainly about infidelity. The stages of it. The emotions. The roller coaster. The best thing is that it’s all coming from a woman’s standpoint which makes it super relatable. Let’s be honest, every woman has been heartbroken so they’ll be able to relate to this album. Whether it’s a song or the whole album, it’s relatable.

I would honestly have to say this is probably the most artistic album Beyonce has ever done. Her last one was pretty creative but this one had deeper meaning all across the board! So if you want to be stimulated mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, WATCH IT. I’ve shared it on my Facebook so go take a look!

Adult Coloring Therapy

Hey, dears! Let’s talk relaxation.

Lately, I’ve been under some stress so I decided to turn to adult coloring. Why? Because I’ve heard so many great things about it. I’ve read articles that adult coloring has even been used in people with illnesses, such as cancer and epilepsy. Doctors say that it provides relaxation and it’s soothing because the outcome is predictable. I honestly couldn’t agree more.

What makes adult coloring “adult” is the fact that the coloring books don’t contain cartoons or other child-like things. The books contain intricate patterns, such as the one you see pictured. It requires some real focus to get in the zone when you’re coloring. Usually, I turn to reading or music when I’m stressed out. However, music can sometimes just make me think more about my problems. Reading helps a little better but sometimes I drift off and go back to focusing on my stress. That doesn’t happen to me at all with coloring. I’m so focused on what I’m doing that my mind doesn’t drift off at all. That is exactly what I need in times of stress.

You can find adult coloring books in Barnes & Nobles and Amazon. The price range  is around $10-20. I’m currently using twistable crayons, but colored pencils are definitely better for patterns that are more detailed.

Let that creativity flourish. Happy Coloring!

Halloween Makeup Looks

Hey, all! With Halloween around the corner, I think it’s about time that I spoke about some fun and creepy Halloween makeup looks! Almost all of these would need a costume to complete the look and some of them need special effects makeup (SFX). For SFX makeup, I highly recommend purchasing from Mehron. That got the juice when it comes to costume makeup. For those of you who don’t like to go all out and like to keep your looks simple and easy, don’t fret! I will have another post talking about “last minute” Halloween makeup/outfit ideas. However, this post is for those of you Halloween stans who like to plan ahead! So let’s get on to these looks…

Bride of Frankenstein (via Pinterest)

Desi Perkins slayed with this Bride of Frankenstein makeup look! I used her tutorial to learn how to do my fake stitches in the photo above. This is a perfect look for those of you who want to serve creepy but glam at the same time.

Little Red “Rotting” Hood (via Pinterest)

To me, Nicole Guerriero is the QUEEN of Halloween makeup tutorials on Youtube. She literally goes all out! I wanted to do this look last year, but since I didn’t have any plans I ended up not doing it. She actually uses some Mehron products in this look.

Zombie Cleopatra (via Pinterest)

Amanda Ensing did a pretty damn good job with her zombie Cleopatra! One of the good things about this look is that she did the wound without using SFX. She used adhesive and tissue paper.

Evil Killer Clown (via Pinterest)

This look is just plain creepy, but dope at the same time. I personally would pair this with a carnival-like outfit and a bloody, FAKE knife.

Evil Queen of the Tribe (via Pinterest)

I probably should’ve mentioned that Nicole Guerriero was going to be featured a few times in this post haha. Sorry, not sorry. I can’t help it if she nails so many Halloween looks! Plus, this look is so unique. You wouldn’t think of this look off the top of your head. If you don’t want the evil version, she also does a good version in the same video.

Pop Art (via Pinterest)

Although Pop Art makeup is tedious to do, it looks amazing! I’m a fan of anything fun and retro.

Ice Queen (via youtube)

This look is just whimsical glam and I simply love it. Not everyone likes to be super creepy and I totally get it 🙂

Galaxy Chic

This is the most creative thing I’ve ever seen on Youtube, makeup wise. Now, this wasn’t meant to be a Halloween look. Nicole did it just because she was feeling alien-like haha. Either way, this would probably be one of the boldest and  most creative looks for Halloween. I would wear this with a silver jumpsuit or something galaxy like.

Demon (via Pinterest)

When I think demon, I think of the demons on Supernatural. Those big black pupils just define “demon” in my eyes. I think this look is great on its own or with a costume.

Zombie Flapper (via Pinterest)

This is another look Desi Perkins executed flawlessly! I plan to be a zombie flapper this Halloween, but just a bit more toned down.

I hope this post gave you guys some inspiration! xx

Interview Fashion

Hey guys! So today, I wanted to write about something that definitely crosses my mind and I’m sure crosses a majority of your minds and that is … “What should I wear to a job interview?” Not knowing what to wear to a job interview is pretty frustrating and nerve-wracking. You want to make the best impression, right? So I decided to write about different ways you should dress for different interviews. You’re not going to wear the same outfit you wore for a job at Starbucks that you’re going to wear for a job at a corporate office. You’re not going to wear the same outfit for a corporate office that you will for a fashion job and so on and so forth. It all depends what kind of job it is. So I’m going to give you some tips for how to dress for different types of jobs. I hope you benefit 🙂

Corporate Industry

Corporate interviews are wear you want to keep it conservative and professional. Examples of careers that you would want to wear something like this are accounting, business, law, finance, etc. In fields like those, you don’t want to be loud or too casual. You always want to keep it toned down and professional.  Wear a conservative heel (closed toe not too high). Wear neutral colors: black, navy, grey, white. You want to stick with the basics. No one ever got denied because they were too professional!

Creative Industry

Creative Interviews are interviews where they is obviously room for some color and some creativity. Hence the term, creative interviews. Examples of careers that you would want to dress like this are music, advertising, graphic design, etc. The difference between the corporate and creative industries is that while professional, creative industries give you room to add some color. You don’t have to stick with the navy, black, blue, grey like in a corporate setting.

Fashion Industry

For a fashion industry interview, you’re going to want to show that you know how to dress. If you can’t dress yourself, why would you get hired to dress others? For a fashion interview, always have a great bag and always wear heels. Don’t go over 4 inches though. They will be judging how you dress more than other interviews because its the FASHION INDUSTRY .. duh! You want to be trendy and chic yet professional. Always keep it classy. Always keep it professional. For a fashion interview, the classic way to go is a dress and blazer. You can do well-fitting pants if you prefer but accessorize well! Also, don’t go designer crazy. No one likes a label whore.

Casual Industries

When I say causal interview, I don’t mean let’s wear tank tops and flip flops. Remember, you always have to keep it professional. It doesn’t matter what kind of interview it is. What I mean by casual is part-time jobs. Jobs like cashier, hostess, barista, etc are jobs that you’re obviously not going to pull out your best suit for. You don’t have to wear heels to these interviews. You can be more relaxed but that doesn’t mean wear jeans, shorts, sandals, tank tops, t-shirts, sneakers, etc. You still want to look good, presentable and most of all professional!

Interview Do’s:

  • Keep your makeup natural and light. Skip the eye shadow, bronzer, and bright lipstick.
  • Keep your hair clean, simple, and neat.
  • Wear something that FITS you.
  • Make sure your shoes are polished and scuff free.

Interview Fashion Dont’s:

  • Don’t wear sandals, flip flops, wedges, or sneakers. Open toe pumps are fine but only for creative or fashion industries.
  • Don’t look trashy. Always keep skirts and dresses at knee length.
  • Skip wild nail polish like animal print, stripes, designs, etc. You’re not going to a club.
  • Skip heavy perfume. You never know who’s allergic.

When in doubt, go for the conservative look. You can’t go wrong with that.

Remember: Dress for the job you WANT, not the job you HAVE.
