Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

Hey, darlings! Thanksgiving is a little over a week away and I know some of us like to plan ahead and figure out what we’re gonna wear. I sure as hell plan my holiday outfits days, sometimes weeks, in advance. So, I wanted to give you guys some ideas of what you can wear this year for the Thanksgiving holiday. The looks range from super casual to more glam.

For those of you who don’t do anything really special for Thanksgiving, I introduce to you the casual Thanksgiving outfit. This is also perfect for those of you who are just more laid back even if you may be doing something special. A basic shirt with ripped skinny jeans, a scarf, converse, and bomber jacket are casual yet put together. It’s better than wearing sweats and mocassins, haha.

This is usually my go-to for Thanksgiving. This is more semi-casual because you can pair these with booties or even heels to make this fancier. This outfit is perfect if you’re going to a relative’s house or even hosting at your own house. It’s pretty put together but not to the point where people think you’re going to a formal event.

This outfit is one of my favorites! I think this is ideal if you are spending Thanksgiving at a friend’s house or at significant other’s house for the first time. It makes a super great first impression. It’s very put together, but once again not too formal. You can even wear this with flats to make it a smidge more casual.

Sometimes, you gotta go all out and I think this outfit is perfect for the occasion. If you don’t want to do a dress, you can feel free to do a skirt and blouse. This is ideal for those of you who go all out on Thanksgiving aka Thanksgiving is your holiday, haha. For me, this is as dressy as I would ever get for Thanksgiving. Anything for dressy than this would be too formal. We’re not going to a wedding, here. 🙂

I hope this gave you guys some inspiration!

Fall to Winter Handbag Essentials

Hey, babes! I know the weather has been pretty erratic this fall season. I live in NYC and the weather has been going from 56 degrees to 76 degrees – it’s pretty damn annoying. I like a cool fall. Not this spring weather in November. It’s just plain ridiculous, but I digress. Everyone has purse necessities, but they do tend to change depending on the situation and season. I would hope that if you live in a place that snows, you wouldn’t be taking sunblock with you on a daily basis in your bag during the winter. So, I wanted to share with you guys what I personally think are must haves for your purse this fall and winter.

  • Lip Balm Lips obviously tend to get more dry during the winter, for obvious reasons. Chapped lips are not cute at all! So be sure to pack some lip balm.
  • Kleenex The cooler months are when nosebleeds, colds, flu, viruses, etc are rampant. So, keep those germs AND blood to yourself with some tissues!
  • Hand Sanitizer While we are on the subject of germs, hand sanitizer is the best way to keep you from catching and spreading germs.
  • Umbrella As I’ve said, the weather is freaking unpredictable. You obviously don’t want to be caught in an unexpected storm. So, you always need to have an umbrella. ALWAYS.
  • Lotion Once again, skin can get more dry due to the weather change. So, always bring some lotion to keep that skin soft.
  • Hairbrush/Comb Wind is my enemy. I always carry a small brush to get my hair together when the weather wants to try me.
  • Lint Roller When you wear dark colors, lint and hair tends to just stick to you! I have to wear black for work and it seems that once I leave my house, my outfit is covered in lint. A mini lint roller is perfect and convenient for those situations!

New Favorite Clothing Stores

Hey, guys! As someone who is fond of fashion, it’s obvious to assume that I enjoy shopping. That statement is 100% accurate. It can honestly get to an unhealthy point and I’m not even gonna front. I just want nice things! I can’t help it! It’s like they call my name. Lately, I’ve realized that I’ve been shopping more online than anywhere else. I just find it super convenient and sometimes I don’t want to have to deal with people. Shopping is like meditation to me haha. It eases my soul. I honestly can’t remember the last time I brought a piece of clothing in person. Anyway, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite places to shop. So, here we go….

  • Boohoo I have been oddly obsessed with all things Boohoo. Boohoo is from the UK and they’re are a super affordable online retailer. The reason being is that they have a sale every day. I’ve never purchased anything full price there. The quality is good and there is a huge variety of options. You really can’t go wrong. I’d definitely recommend this store to anyone on a budget.
  • Fashion Nova This website kind of reminds me of, but just a bit different. The main thing that they have in common is that they cater to curvy women. By that, I mean that they showcase clothes for women who are bootylicious and/or boobalicious. As someone who is pear shaped, I buy a lot of my pants and jeans from there. They’re not only online. They have a few stores in California.
  • DAZE I found out about this place on Instagram. It’s more of a boutique. They have fewer options than your average online retailer, but I do like what they sell. The price point isn’t bad either.
  • Windsor This store is similar to Boohoo. The vibe is pretty much the same and so is the price point, but Windsor rarely ever has sales. So, that’s the only bummer. Otherwise, the clothes are trendy and they do have stores in various states in the US.
  • MissGuided I absolutely LOVE this place! The only problem is that they can get pricey. So, I can’t indulge as much as I’d like to. Their clothes are great though and right up my alley. They stay on top of trends and keep things fresh and bold.

I hope you guys check some of these places out if you haven’t already and remember…

They mainly specialize in jewelry, particularly statement necklaces. Upon joining the company as a brand ambassador, I was sent a complimentary necklace of my choosing. Anyway, the necklace I decided on was the Gypsy Coin Necklace.

I’m literally in love with this necklace! It gives me that Egyptian glam vibe and it came in perfect condition. ♥

All About Handbags

Hey, my dears! Handbags are probably a woman’s most important accessory. Like where else are you gonna put all your stuff? In your pockets? I highly doubt it unless you’re going to the corner store. Handbags are essential! There are plenty of different types to choose from, but there are definitely a few must-haves. I’m going to share a few handbag staples as well as my favorite places to shop for bags.

Handbag Staples
  • Tote A tote is basically a large shoulder bag that fits a bunch of stuff in it. You can use it for weekend travel and for just the average day. An example is the burgundy bag in the photo.
  • Cross Body To me, the main purpose of a crossbody is to be convenient. They range from big and small. I usually use these when I’m going out drinking or clubbing because I’m not trying to worry about my bag all night. I know I always have it on me because strapped on to my body comfortably. An example of a crossbody is the small black bag. I usually like my crossbody bags to be small.
  • Structured This is your basic purse. You usually can’t fit it on your shoulder because of the straps length. You can rest it on the inside of your elbow, though. They’re similar to the navy striped one pictured. They’re also not as spacious as a tote.
  • Clutches/Wristlets I didn’t include photos of these, but they’re small and fit the basics like your wallet and makeup. I stick to these on formal occasions.

I’m not a luxury handbag type of person. I rarely every buy designer handbags because I like my handbags fairly simple. If I’m gonna drop a bunch of money on something, it definitely wouldn’t be a purse. My go-to places for handbags are…

Banana Republic

Forever 21

All these stores offer affordable, good quality, and stylish handbags 🙂
