Hit or Miss: NYX’s Liquid Suede Lipstick

Hey, dears! Originally, I was undecided about buying one of NYX’s Liquid Suede lipsticks. The reason for that was because none of the colors really called my name. Then I realized that the shade “Vintage” was a dupe for Anastasia Beverly Hills’ “Trust Issues”. That’s when I knew I had to have it because that shade is gorgeous and I didn’t want to spend $20 for it. Plus, I figured these liquid lipsticks are super popular because they are always sold out.

The description on the NYX websites says, “Doll up your lips in plush and vibrant color! Our Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick glides on and sets into a striking matte finish. Velvety soft and waterproof, this long-lasting lippie creates a positively polished look with every swipe.” Basically, this is a matte liquid lipstick. Needless to say, I expected the same outcome or similar as my other liquid matte lipsticks. However, that wasn’t the case.

As far as pros go, I love the color. The pigmentation is great. Also, the applicator is a paddle brush which makes it easier to apply. It’s definitely creamy and comfortable on the lips. However, this is not long lasting at all. If you eat, kiss, drink, etc.. it’s definitely going to transfer and fade. You’re definitely going to have to reapply. Also, it doesn’t completely dry to a matte finish. Which is disappointing. Overall, I think for $7 it’s a nice product. If you’re looking for something that compares to Colourpop or Dose of Colors, Kat Von D, etc.. I’d go with something else. If you don’t mind touching up throughout the day, then I’d definitely buy it. My final opinion is that it’s not a must have in my book, but it’s not a horrible product either.
