Hey, darlings! First off, let me start by saying that this closet above is clearly not mine. I can only dream of having a closet this spacious and beautiful. Having a walk-in closet is the goal, haha! However, I still do have a closet obviously and I tend to revamp it about twice every year or so. What I mean by revamping is that I take all the unnecessary crap out. I’m not a hoarder by any means and I hate clutter when it comes to my clothes and makeup. Everything else in my room is another story entirely, haha. For those of you who are looking to start fresh with your closet, here are some tips!
- Cater your closet to the season When fall was approaching, I took out all my summer wear out of my closet. However, if you live in a place where the weather is consistent hot or cold then this won’t apply to you as much.
- Accept that you may have gotten bigger or smaller Yes, there has been that one piece of clothing that no longer hangs on my body right. It happens to everyone! DO NOT FEEL BAD. But, if you’re not planning to lose or gain weight to fit into that particular item then just toss it! I don’t mean throw your clothes in the trash. Always give away your clothes to friends, family, or the needy. Throwing out clothes in the trash is ridiculous unless they’re ruined and unwearable.
- Some things are just out of style If you don’t like a sweater that you wore in 2012 anymore, then just give it away. Don’t feel like you need to keep items in your closet just because you bought them. Remember, you gotta make new room for the new stuff!
- Sell unworn items This is so useful! I have bought plenty of things that I never got a chance to wear. After a while, I end up not even wanting to wear it. The best thing to do in that scenario is sell it! You can’t return it and why give away something brand new for free?!
