“Orange is the New Black” Season 3 Review

(via deadline.com)

Hey all! It’s pretty rare that I review any type of entertainment material on the blog, unless of course I have strong feelings on it. This is one of those moments. I, like many, highly enjoy OITNB. I was hooked after the first season. The second season was pretty good but not as great as the first. Now, the third season was ultimately disappointing…

I know that it can be assumed that since I finished the season in 4 days, that means I couldn’t stop watching. The real reason I finished it so fast was because I was waiting for something major in the plot to happen which didn’t really ever happen. Season 3 was 90% character development. This is the season where you see how the inmates got into prison, how past occurrences effect the present, etc. In my opinion, only 3 maybe 4 things interesting occurred. However, I wouldn’t necessarily call those events “climax events”. It was never to the point where I was like “Holy sh*t I need to watch the next episode!” I was more left with the “Oh damn” or “Wow” feeling. It didn’t keep me on the edge of my seat waiting to watch the next episode like a fiend. I was just left waiting for something really great and shocking! I wasn’t completely satisfied with the events that unfolded. I’m positive that I’m not the only one to feel this way.

I’m not going to spoil it for anyone and say what inmate does what or who goes where, etc. I’ll let you finish the series and come up with your own opinion. If I had to rate it I’d give it a 7/10. It wasn’t horrible! I did enjoy looking back into the character’s lives BUT I would’ve enjoyed more plot. *shrug*
