Hit or Miss: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer

(via sephora.com)

Hey all! So after being on a roll of HITS, we have reached a MISS. Yes, I’m just going to get straight to it with this product because I don’t have much to say about, besides the fact that I’m unimpressed.

According to sephora.com, this product  “delivers the restorative power of FAB Ultra Repair Cream in a lightweight formula for the face. This quick-absorbing moisturizer provides immediate hydration with a velvety soft finish. Meadowfoam seed oil and avocado oil soften and hydrate while shea butter and ceramides help protect the skin’s barrier function.” The reason I tried this product out is because I’m trying to get into the habit of moisturizers. I have a bad habit of not using a moisturizer at all because I’m oily. However, I always try to remind myself that dehydration of the skin can cause more oil. Sure, Josie Maran and GlamGlow have moisturizers that are a dream but they’re pricy. I don’t want to keep dishing out $45-75 on a damn moisturizer. This one in particular only costs $24.

My issue with this product is that it doesn’t do anything for my skin. I don’t notice or feel a difference. I actually felt more oily in the morning. For me personally, it didn’t absorb as quickly as I thought it would. It was just like putting regular unscented lotion on my face. So if a product reaps no benefits for me, what’s the point? I thought it’s probably because I’m oily but I’ve heard great things about this moisturizer from fellow oily people. I just don’t know what’s the problem! Unfortunately, this one is a MISS for me. I won’t be crossing off FAB products all together but this one isn’t for me.
