Hello people. Let me introduce you to this talented beauty, Nicole Cossey. Nicole grew up in El Monte, CA. She’s 28 years old. Her first memories of makeup were of her older sister Jeanette. When Jeanette was in high school, their mother would buy her MAC products. Nicole remembers walking into MAC for the first time with her mother and sister. She was amazed! She was only 8 or 9 and she loved to draw and paint, so walking  into this place where there were so many colors and beautiful makeup artists set something off in her. When she finally became a freshman, her mother bought her her very first Studio Fix compact. She continued to keep pushing and learning. She attended and graduated from Ruby Makeup Academy. She loves what she does and wouldn’t change anything about it.

What is your favorite high-end brand?

My favorite high end brand is Makeup Forever, Dany Sanz is an inspiration.

What are 3 makeup items you couldn’t possibly live without?

Three products I could never live without… One would have to be my Smashbox Photo Finish Primer – my foundation application would not be the same without it. Also, my Anastasia Chocolate Dipbrow – brows are everything. Lastly, would have to be my Becca highlight in Opal, it brings light and life to any face. I absolutely love all three.

What’s your favorite drugstore brand?

My favorite drugstore brand would have to be NYX.

What type of beauty product do you buy the most of (mascaras, concealers, lipsticks etc)?

The products I tend to bye more are eye shadows. I can never have enough color. I’m a sucker for a good palette.

What is the most common makeup faux pas that you see?

he most common Faux pas mistakes I see would have to be eyebrows. Working in Sephora, I see many mistakes with shape and brow color. I’m always happy to fix brows.

Do you have a “beauty budget” or do you spend freely?

I do try to keep a beauty budget but that can be hard. I always keep my kit fully stocked and that is the most important thing a freelance artist can do. I do admit that I splurge at times

What’s your favorite lipstick?

My favorite lipstick is hard to choose because I have so many, but the one I tend to wear the most is Kat Von D everlasting love liquid lipstick in Lolita.

The one celebrity that always inspired me with her makeup would have to be Gwen Stefani, I love a bold cat eye, and a fire red lip. She was never afraid of color and I love that.

My favorite beauty guru of all time is Jordan Hanz, her body painting techniques are amazing, every piece of work she creates is so bold and detailed. I love her.

I’ve never avoided any brands, I always like to try at least one item from every line, but if I had to name one brand that I use the least is Bare Minerals.

The one tool I would recommend to anyone would be The Beauty Blender – that little sponge has changed my life.

What is one beauty product that you’d recommend to ANYONE & why?

One beauty product I recommend to anyone is Primer, either facial primer or eyeshadow primer, you can’t have a flawless application without a good primer. It’s the glue that holds everything together, and also saves the skin from breakouts.

If you had to give up one makeup item for the rest of your life, which would it be?

If I had to give up one product it would have to be my makeup setting spray, everything else I cannot live without.

What is your absolute pet peeve when it comes to other people’s makeup?

My one absolute pet peeve when it comes to other people’s makeup is the the use of wrong color. I see it most with brows, foundation and blush, there is nothing worse than seeing bright pink blush all over the cheekbones as if it were bronzer.

Share a beauty tip/trick/hack.. whatever you’d like to call it. Lol

The one tip I would give and use myself everyday is rosewater.  I mix half rose water and half witch hazel into a small spray bottle and use that as a toner, I love that it gets rid of any makeup, dirt and oil my cleanser may have left behind. It keeps my skin clean and smelling like roses.
