What is your favorite high-end brand?

This depends on the item, I have never been one to stick with just one brand so my makeup collection has items from all over. I love Dior eyeshadows, YSL lipsticks, and the mascaras from Givenchy are divine. I also love MAC for their foundations and lipsticks.

What are 3 makeup items you couldn’t possibly live without?

Hmmmm, this is a tough one. I would have to say lipsticks since that was the first item I was ever allowed to wear and I love a great bold lip. Second would have to be eyeshadow – it is the quintessential piece to every makeup look I do.  Blending multiple colors is my specialty and it is the smallest canvas where I can express my skills.  The third item would have to be my makeup brushes, those are the best tools I can have to do what I love to do.

What’s your favorite drugstore brand?
I like Maybelline for their mascara’s since they can rival the high end ones that I have. Wet n wild lipsticks have the best pigmentation and I went crazy for these when they had a buy one for $1 get one free, amazing.  I also love Sonia Kashuk brushes. They were the first ones I’ve had and they are still in perfect condition

What type of beauty product do you buy the most of (mascaras, concealers, lipsticks etc)?

Lipsticks would have to be first. I am always looking for hot new colors and shades for my collection. Then there’s foundation since I run out of it so quickly because I have to do my makeup everyday for work. Third would have to be my shampoo and conditioner, the conditioner mostly since I have curly hair I tend to run out of that a lot

What is the most common makeup faux pas that you see?

The biggest ones that I see are people who contour using the wrong shade anddoing it wrong for their face shape, brows that look like they were drawn on with a sharpie marker, and mascara being applied to thickly that end up having their lashes looking like hairy spider legs.

Do you have a “beauty budget” or do you spend freely?

I don’t have a budget per say, but I do try not to get the same or similar items that I already have and try to stick with new exciting items that I will have tons of use with.

What’s your favorite lipstick?

My favorite lipstick has to be the matte lipsticks from MAC. I have a collection of every one that is apart of their permanent collection. As far as shades my favorite nude lip is called Velvet Teddy, my favorite red lip color is called Russian Red, my favorite staple hot pink is a discontinued shade called Quick Sizzle.

Describe your everyday makeup look.

I typically try to switch things up everyday, I have so much makeup in different colors that I try not to do the same look unless I am pressed for time. But the classic look that I will go back to is the ever so classic red lip paired with a natural eye look using the naked 2 palette from urban decay. I use the shade called “bootycall” all over the lid with “tease” in the crease and black shadow on the outer “v” of the eye. ThenI do a classic winged liner using MAC Black Track Fluidline.

What’s your favorite mascara?

My favorite high end would have to be Givenchy Phenomen eyes and my favorite drug store is Lash Stiletto from Maybelline.

Is there any celebrity that you get your makeup inspiration from & why that celebrity?

As of now there is no celebrity that I get my inspiration from. I get my inspiration from other artist. Other makeup artists that are as adventurous with their artistry as I am.

Do you have some favorite beauty gurus? If so, who?

Yes I do, I used to watch Hey Fran Hey and SunkissAlba (on youtube) . They helped me to realize that my hair was heat damaged over a  year ago, which is why I started my hair care journey and now have a very health head of beautiful curls.

If you could leave the house with only ONE makeup product, which would it be?

I always leave the house with my lipstick for touch ups later on in the day. My makeup lasts all day so I don’t need to carry anything else.

Are there any brands that you try to avoid?

I avoid brands that don’t have pigmented products, as of now the only brand I don’t go to is E.L.F.

Do you usually “haul” or buy items here & there?

I typically buy items here or there, the only time I may haul is if there is a fabulous collection that comes out and I need everything in it.

What’s your favorite skincare brand?

I love First Aid Beauty, their items are for sensitive skin, they don’t have fragrance and don’t irritate my skin, I love the glam glow mask and use that once a week.Caudalie is my next favorite brand, they have effective products, and are all natural. That brand has helped with my hyperpigmentation.

What is one beauty tool/brush that you’d recommend to anyone?

The Beauty Blender of course!!! It is amazing and always has my complexion looking amazing.

What is one beauty product that you’d recommend to ANYONE & why?

This is a 2 parter…..I would recommend a great cleanser and a great mask. Clean skin is the best canvas for great makeup and I take great pride in my skincare routine. A great mask helps to detox the skin for that deeper cleanse and can brighten the skin. Your skin will look fabulous and so will your makeup once you put it on.

If you had to give up one makeup item for the rest of your life, which would it be?

Lol …I would give up false eyelashes, I hardly wear them since I do have natural lashes of a nice length and since I’m not giving up  my usual items I guess that will do.

What is your absolute pet peeve when it comes to other people’s makeup?

Oh my god, where should I start? well for one brows that are done all wrong and look like sharpie markers. Then there’s the foundations that don’t match their shade correctly. Last but not least, unblended eyeshadow that makes people look like Mimi from the Drew Carey show

Share a beauty tip/trick/hack.. whatever you’d like to call it. Lol

I do have a series on my Youtube channel where I give beauty tips, but here’s one off the top of my head. Use your foundation to brush onto your lips before you apply your lipstick. It will negate the color of your lips and act as a prime for your lipstick so that it lasts longer and the color of the product shows truer.
